PERRYOPOLIS, Pa. — Multiple security cameras at the BP on Route 51 in Perryopolis captured the moments that led to a fiery crash into a gas pump on Saturday.
From one angle, you see an SUV driving out of control on the highway and into the parking lot. It hits a truck that was parked and unoccupied.
Then from another camera angle, you see very quickly, that SUV slams into the gas pump, sending flames across the lot.

Another truck, which was a few pumps over had just finished filling up, and was able to drive away from the flames.
Hari Neubane, who works at the BP, was in the restroom when the crash happened.
“I heard a bang sound. I immediately came out here and saw the fire was going on there,” Neubane said.
Moments later, Good Samaritans started to show up to help get the driver and three kids out. One of them was Neubane.
“We heard screaming noise inside. There was one young guy who was like a hero. He took the driver out,” Neubane told Channel 11′s Andrew Havranek. “They needed a hammer. We couldn’t open the door without the hammer, so I got the hammer and hit the glass and took them out.”
On Monday, crews worked to continue cleaning up and repairing the destroyed gas pump to get it replaced. Inside, the store has some damage after the pick-up truck that was hit by the SUV hit the store.
Neubane said this could have been worse late at night if no one was working to shut the gas off or help.
“How thankful are you that this wasn’t worse?” Havranek asked.
“Very thankful!” Neubane said.
Right now, there’s no official word from the firefighters or police on their conditions or how this crash happened.
