DARLINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — After more than a month full of stress, worrying their cars may be damaged while they’re sleeping, residents of Darlington are relieved.
State police say they are charging multiple juveniles for stealing bricks from a local brickyard and throwing them at parked cars in the middle of the night. Troopers say the juveniles confessed to the vandalism.

“All of us have been parking in our yards and behind our houses trying to hide our vehicles because we were afraid it was going to happen again,” said Darlington Borough Council President Terry McKeel.
On Wednesday night, McKeel and other victims got a call from troopers who said they’d identified multiple juveniles who confessed to the vandalism.
While McKeel is relieved they’ve been caught, there are some mixed emotions since the suspects are under 18.
“Sad I guess. I guess I was just wondering, ‘Why were these kids out at 4:00 in the morning? Where are their parents?’” McKeel said.
Doorbell camera video from neighbors around town was a major help for investigators.
“A lot of times those cameras aren’t extremely high quality, but at least it gives you a very good starting point, and that’s what happened here in this case,” said Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible.
State police say criminal mischief charges will be filed against the multiple juveniles involved in the vandalism. The district attorney says oftentimes, that’s community service and fines.
“Every action has consequences, and I would much rather have kids learn that lesson at a young age when they’re not necessarily going to jail,” Bible told Channel 11’s Andrew Havranek.
Bible said the juveniles may also have to pay for the damages. McKeel said she’s willing to help victims collect information for state police.
“Anybody that did get damage, please reach out to myself, the borough, or the state police and get your estimates and repair bills in,” McKeel said.
