ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A water main break caused water to gush out of a road in Ross Township.

Allegheny County dispatchers said police officers and firefighters were called to the 300 block of Jacks Run Road at 6:46 a.m.

Crews closed Jacks Run Road between the Grove bar and Kane Lane to make repairs.

West View Water said an 8-inch water main broke.

Ross Township Police said the break washed away a hillside, took out a tree and a yard.

10 homes were left without service. It is expected to be restored by 5 p.m.
