The fire started at Tao’s Auto Service, in the 3000 block of Babcock Boulevard, just after 6 p.m.

Tao’s Auto Service was destroyed in the blaze.

A Channel 11 crew at the scene could see huge clouds of smoke billowing into the air as crews fought the fire.

Three people were taken to a local hospital from the scene. Seville Volunteer Fire Company said two of their firefighters were taken to the hospital with first and second degree burns. West View Volunteer Fire Department said one of their members rolled his ankle and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Early Thursday morning, the fire rekindled. Our crew at the scene saw smoke rising from the building and firefighters using a chainsaw to get inside.

“It was steps away from my business. We were terrified our building would catch fire and watch everything I worked for burn. Thank God that didn’t happen,” said Suz Pisano, fashion designer.

Suz Pisano is fashion designer that owns a studio next door. She said she was working with a client when the fire started.

“I was working with the bride, literally pinning her in her dress. The firemen came and she was in a panic because her wedding is in a month, and we had to leave and she had to leave her wedding dress behind next door to a burning building,” said Pisano.

Pisano said she is thankful the fire and smoke didn’t spread to her studio.

“It’s my life. So many people depend on me/ I couldn’t imagine what could have happened,” said Pisano.

Pisano said the mechanic who rents out the building can rebuild his business back.

“Tao he is a beloved mechanic in this area. I made a Facebook post last night and hundreds of people were making good thoughts about him. I’m sure he will be fine,” said Pisano.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
