Fire damages floors above a Kittanning business

KITTANNING, Pa. — Multiple fire departments responded to a large fire in Armstrong County on Tuesday morning.

The four-alarm fire broke out on the upper floors of a building on South Jefferson Street.

Firefighters tell us the first floor of the building contains an active business, Earthbound Apothecary, which sells bath and body products. It’s unclear if the business sustained any damage.

The upper floors, where the fire began, are also owned by the business but were used largely for storage.

The apartments next door were evacuated, but were not damaged, and no one was displaced as a result of the flames.

No one was inside or hurt when the fire started.
