Steady rain expected Sunday night, dry weather likely on Monday

PITTSBURGH — Rain this evening will be steady in spots. Use caution if driving tonight because rain could reduce visibility and create ponding on roads. Most of the wet weather should wrap up overnight with a mostly cloudy sky to start early Monday morning.

Clouds break for more sun Monday, windy and mild with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Wind gusts on Monday will reach up to 35-40 mph.

Dry weather is expected Monday and through the day on Tuesday, the next system will bring the chance of rain showers to the area by late Tuesday evening.

Temperatures fall near the freezing mark overnight; rain showers could mix with snow showers south and east of Pittsburgh before ending. Much colder air is expected Wednesday, highs will be in the low 40s with a mostly cloudy sky. Winds from the northwest Wednesday cloud bring a few snow/rain showers to the area during the day. Make sure to check back as the midweek forecast could change.

Temperatures will only cool briefly. Warm air returns at the end of the work week, with highs in the 60s and 70s into the weekend. The warmer days will also bring the chance of rain showers next weekend.
