Child beaten, dragged outside Clairton Elementary School; adult facing charges

CLAIRTON, Pa. — An 11-year-old was taken to Children’s Hospital after she was reportedly beaten and dragged by an adult right outside of her elementary school.

William Spencer says what happened to his 11-year-old daughter outside of Clairton Elementary School is completely unacceptable.

Spencer said, “I would never put my hands on nobody’s kid…never.”

Spencer says it was March of this year when his daughter started getting bullied and harassed at school by a 7-year-old boy. Spencer says he contacted the school principal to be proactive.

“I even asked her like, can we please set up a meeting with the parents to be civil about it before anything escalated and that failed,” Spencer said.

On April 1st, Spencer says the 7-year-old’s mother, Jasmine Snow, got violent with his 11-year-old, reportedly beating and dragging the child.

He said, “She got out the car and attacked my daughter on school grounds, it’s all on camera. Got punched multiple times to the face, stomped on the ground, kicked.”

In the report, police say surveillance cameras from the school show the assault. The 11-year-old’s injuries were so bad she was told she’d need further analysis by a concussion specialist.

Spencer said, “They stopped our appointment and said that my daughter has to go to the ER, she’s been having multiple headaches and blurred vision to the left eye”

In response, a school spokesperson said:

“Clairton City School District is unable to comment on an ongoing police investigation at this time. However, we are fully cooperating with the authorities. We are deeply saddened by any instance of violence in our community. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. "

Spencer says he’s pulled his daughter out of the Clairton School District because it’s not safe for her to go back. He says he’s looking to move out of the district.

Snow faces charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment.
