PITTSBURGH — Major changes are underway at Carnegie Science Center.
On Monday, the Carnegie name was removed from the building’s signage. That’s because the museum now has a new name, thanks to a $65 million gift Channel 11 first told you about in January.

The funds were donated at the hands of Dan and Carole Kamin, and it’s the largest gift the Carnegie Institute has received since its founding in 1895. The museum was renamed to honor the Kamins. Now, the process to change the building’s signage has begun.
The Science Center will remain one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh.
