PITTSBURGH — A bus fire had part of a busy road in Oakland shut down Monday.

Pitt police said 5th Avenue was closed between Bigelow Boulevard and Tennyson due to a bus fire.

Allegheny County dispatchers said one person was taken to the hospital from the scene.

At around 7 p.m., Pitt police said 5th Avenue was reopened to Tennyson Avenue, with traffic being rerouted up Tennyson until the bus could be moved. Two lanes of 5th Avenue were reopened between Bellefield Avenue and Tennyson Avenue just before 9 p.m.
