PITTSBURGH — South Side restaurant Bonfire Food & Drink will close its doors on Feb. 15 after the restaurant decided to not renew its lease for the 2100 E Carson St location after operating in the space for over six years. Chef and owner Chris Bonfili announced the closure in a post made to social media.
“Thanks to all of my staff past and present for making Bonfire such a special place,” Bonfili wrote in the post. “Thanks to the Southside community for welcoming and supporting us over the years, yinz are the best, and lastly thanks to my family and friends for always inspiring me to pursue my dreams and continue to do what has fulfilled me for so long.”
Family, ultimately, is why Bonfili made the decision to move on. After his father passed away, Bonfili has decided to spend more time focused on his kids.
