Vials of liquid found inside suspicious package left in front of East Liberty business, police say

PITTSBURGH — The bomb squad investigated a suspicious package left outside of a business in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Public Safety officials said an employee noticed a white box on the sidewalk in front of the business in the 5900 block of Baum Boulevard and called police.

When officers arrived on scene, they evacuated employees from the building and found papers, wires and vials containing liquid inside of the box

Bomb squad and hazmat crews determined the contents weren’t dangerous and reopened the road in the area.

The FBI also responded and will be conducting tests at their lab.

No one was injured. Pittsburgh police continue to investigate.
