BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — The doors were locked and the lights off Friday afternoon, a different story from 24 hours earlier, when county detectives raided four massage parlors and a home across Beaver County.

“We believe this is part of a much larger human trafficking ring that stretches beyond the county,” said Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible.
The raids, which took place Thursday evening, targeted businesses in Ambridge, Baden, and Hopewell. Investigators said the operation had been in the works for weeks.
“A lot of these girls performing these massages are ultimately victims,” Bible said. “They live in these parlors in poor conditions, and many don’t even leave.”
According to Bible, many of the women were forced to perform sexual acts and they believe were brought to the U.S. from overseas.
“We have evidence that girls are being brought from China and that payments are being sent back to China,” he said.
Detectives are continuing to interview workers and business owners to determine who may be victims and who could face charges. Bible confirmed that several individuals are expected to be charged with human trafficking.
“In fact, we have good evidence that some of the parlors in Beaver County are linked to businesses in other counties,” Bible said. “Some have the same owners. Some use the same girls, who are shuffled back and forth.”
Bible said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected to be filed in the coming days.
