BEAVER FALLS — Beaver Falls police have charged Daniel Felo II in the shooting death of Eric Mason, who was killed just over a week ago inside an abandoned building on 11th Street. Detectives have issued an arrest warrant for Felo, who is currently on the run and considered armed and dangerous.
“We have filed an arrest warrant in the homicide of Eric Mason,” Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible confirmed during a press briefing. “We are asking the public to help us locate this man.”
Detectives do not believe Felo is in the immediate area, but they urge anyone who spots him to call 911 immediately and not approach him. Felo is believed to possibly be with his girlfriend, according to Bible.
Mason was shot and killed and his body was discovered on the afternoon of Dec. 30. Witnesses have provided critical details to investigators. One witness overheard Felo discussing the murder, claiming Mason had “ratted” on his friend leading to a 15-year prison sentence. Another witness came forward saying Felo demonstrated how Mason fell after being shot.
The district attorney emphasized the community’s role in solving the crime.
“Anytime a crime occurs in Beaver County, especially one like this, we know someone knows something,” Bible said. “This is a case where public cooperation is key to finding justice.”
Beaver Falls Mayor Kenya Johns expressed her condolences, noting that Mason was well-liked in the community.
“He was kind and gracious to anyone that met him,” she said. “This is a loss for everyone who knew him.”
Authorities urge anyone with information on Felo’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement.
