SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man found shot in a wooded area in Shaler Township.
The suspect, Eugene Jones, 25, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Police were called to the 200 block of Hahn Road the day after Christmas around 2:35 p.m.
Authorities said that Andrew Wallace, 45, was shot in the head and a homicide investigation was underway.
Shaler Township police requested Allegheny County police to assist in the investigation.
Following witness interviews and surveillance video, detectives determined that the shooting happened near the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive in the city’s Hill District neighborhood on Christmas Day.
Allegheny County police worked with Pittsburgh police to identify Jones. He is facing multiple charges including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault and carrying a gun without a license.
