PITTSBURGH — An American Airlines flight diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday.

Airport officials say the flight from Indianapolis originally destined for LaGuardia diverted to Pittsburgh because of a possible mechanical issue.

Amerian Airlines says the flight landed safely and taxied to the gate on its own power.

The plane suspected of having a mechanical issue is being inspected. A replacement plane took passengers to their final destination.
