PITTSBURGH — Multiple people were injured in a crash on Veterans Bridge.
Allegheny County dispatchers said the call for the crash came in at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Two people were taken to a hospital from the scene, dispatchers said.
PennDOT said the bridge was closed to traffic in the southbound lanes upon the initial response.
At 7:00 p.m., Veterans Bridge was reopened to traffic. The off-ramp from I-579 to Downtown/7th Avenue and 6th Avenue was closed until crews moved out. At 7:30 p.m. PennDOT issued a final alert saying all restrictions had been lifted.
Drivers are encouraged to take alternative routes.
