PITTSBURGH — 11 Cares partner Highmark Wholecare sponsored Disability Pride Pittsburgh: Weekend Under the Tent.
The event took place Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Schenley Plaza.
Festivities included stage performances and a parade.
“What we really want people to know is that you can celebrate disability pride every day. It’s not a day. It’s not a week. It’s not a month. it’s every day, 365,” said Vicki Landers, founder of Disability Pride PA.
Disability Pride PA is a nonprofit and disabled-led organization started to create inclusion and accessible programs across the state.
