Man ejected from vehicle in crash on Bigelow Boulevard in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — A man was ejected from a vehicle in a crash on Bigelow Boulevard Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle crash around 8 a.m. right before Herron Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a man who had been ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said the cause of the crash is under investigation.

PennDOT is currently working to repair the guiderails damaged in the crash.

Bigelow Boulevard was closed in both directions but has since reopened.

There will be restrictions on the roadway again on Wednesday, so crews can continue to repair the guiderails. PennDOT says there will be single-lane restrictions in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
