If you are planning to attend the U.S. Open at Oakmont this week, but don’t want to wait to see who wins to see the trophy, you can see it for yourself and even have your picture taken with it until early Sunday.
If you’re walking around the Oakmont Country Club golf course this week during the U.S. Open tournament, or watching it on Channel 11, you might catch a glimpse of fans around the course wearing a little blue earphone.
The heat on Thursday was a big change from earlier in the week and even from Wednesday.
Aside from watching the U.S. Open tournament itself, there’s so much for fans to do at Oakmont Country Club this weekend.
People are making their way to Oakmont Country Club — a course considered to be one of golf’s “Cathedrals” — all week for the U.S. Open.
With the increase in crowds, that means there were more lines for things like the concession stand, and just more people making their way through security, around the course and other public areas. Despite that, fans praised the work of the security and staff.
There is so much for fans to see at Oakmont Country Club ahead of the U.S. Open this week, from the merchandise tents, which really is set up more like a store — to a practice putting green, and then the driving range where many golfers were working on their swing.
Channel 11’s Andrew Havranek spoke exclusively with Dustin Johnson Monday after he finished up with a practice round on the course.
One thing a lot of fans are really taking advantage of — seeing pro golfers up close and getting ready for the tournament to start later this week.
