Thursday evening will be nice, mild; Wind advisory goes into effect Friday morning

PITTSBURGH — Nice evening, mild with dry conditions. Clouds build tonight and winds pick up ahead of big changes for the end of the week.

Rain develops for the Friday morning commute, wet roads and breezy conditions are expected. Make sure to allow extra time Friday morning, rain will reduce visibility and may cause ponding on roads. Rain will be on and off throughout the day and some areas could see around half an inch up to three-quarters of an inch of rain by the end of the day.

Not only will it be rainy, but it will also be windy. A wind advisory will go into effect starting at 10 a.m. Friday morning and continue through 2 a.m. Saturday morning for Westmoreland, Fayette, and SE Indiana counties. Wind gusts in the advised locations could reach up to 50 mph, make sure to secure objects tonight before bed. Winds could also bring down tree limbs and knock out power in spots. Make sure to charge your devices ahead of time and have a way to get weather updates and alerts.
