About one-fifth of Pittsburgh metropolitan is of Irish heritage, according to the parade website.

Whether you’re Irish or not, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is an annual tradition for many.

“My mom was just telling me last night, I came when I was one year old, it was the biggest snow blizzard ever,” Makenzie Kubeldis from Coraopolis said.

“I’ve been coming every year since I was like three with my family, and now I’m bringing my friends into it, it’s so much fun,” Bethany Bonnar from Beaver said.
