Pittsburgh woman competing on ‘Jeopardy!’ Tournament of Champions Wednesday

PITTSBURGH — Who is Margaret Shelton?

That’s the answer to the name of the Pittsburgh woman on “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions tonight on WPXI at 7:30 p.m.

She and only a handful of others made it to the Tournament of Champions that is airing this week.

She was on the show in March when she took home $80,000 during a four-day run.

“My game is an exciting game!” exclaimed Margaret Shelton.

If that’s not enough to make you want to watch “Jeopardy!” at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 11, Shelton told anchor Jennifer Tomazic this about what questions to expect:

“The questions they got for this tournament are tricky,” said Shelton.

That’s because the best of the best “Jeopardy!” players are competing against each other to win the tournament. Only 18 former contestants from this season were asked to come back to play in it.”They sent me an email saying, ‘Hey, you have been selected to be in the Tournament of Champions. Do you have any problems with these dates?’ I said, ‘No! I’ll cancel anything! I’m coming, anytime! Anytime you want me to come, I’m coming!’” Shelton shared. She was on the show in March when she took home $80,000 during a four-day run.

At the time, host Ken Jennings told Shelton that made her well positioned for the next Tournament of Champions.

And he was right.

“Oh my goodness, it was amazing! It’s a wonderful feeling,” said Shelton, whose lifelong dream has been to be on “Jeopardy!” Now she’s been on it twice.

Shelton has been glued to the Tournament competitions this week, even cheering on some of her former competitors.”My mother was like, ‘Oh, you’re still watching ‘Jeopardy!’?’ I was like, ‘Yes!’” said Shelton. “She’s like, ‘But you’ve already done that,’ and I was like, ‘I love ‘Jeopardy!’ ‘Jeopardy!’ is the highlight of my day!’”
