18 people arrested during warrant sweep in McKees Rocks, Stowe Township

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — Eighteen people were taken into custody and two dozen bench warrants were cleared after a warrant sweep in McKees Rocks and Stowe Township on Wednesday.

Detectives with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office conducted the sweep after a recent rise of violence in both areas.

The outstanding bench warrants were connected to individuals in both criminal and family divisions of the courts.

Jymere Murphy, 20, and Brenden Whitely, 21, were two of the 18 people arrested during the sweep.

Murphy is facing trial on simple assault and strangulation charges and Whitely is currently on probation from a 2019 gun case.

Two unoccupied stolen vehicles were discovered during the sweep, including a gray Toyota Corolla that was involved in a carjacking in the City of Pittsburgh in Sept. 2022.

The Sheriff’s Office said there are more outstanding warrants, and anyone with information on the individuals should call investigators at 412-350-4714.
