Clearview Federal Credit Union honors recipient of Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award

11 Cares partner Clearview Federal Credit Union has announced Harold Hicks as the 15th Annual Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award recipient.

Hicks and his late wife Patti founded The Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania. Over 500 special needs individuals, both adults and children, were able to experience team sports during the 2021-2022 season thanks to his efforts.

Hicks announced all of the players at the games and spends his time teaching participants good citizenship and sportsmanship skills. He also considers all of the players in the league his family.

“Clearview is proud to honor Harold for his accomplishments and recognizes all that the nominated individuals and organizations do to better the lives of those within our communities,” said President and CEO of Clearview, Ron Celaschi. “This award bears the name of a long-time Clearview employee and former CEO, Joseph C. Cirelli, who passed away last year. He volunteered much of his time for charities and causes that fostered Clearview’s vision’s spirit- helping people to enjoy a better life. We are honored to recognize Harold, who epitomizes Mr. Cirelli’s legacy of service.”

“I am truly humbled and grateful for this generous recognition. The Miracle League will be using these funds for ongoing field maintenance to give all individuals access to play activities. Thank you, Clearview, for being a valued community partner recognizing the work of so many beneficial groups in the local community,” said Harold Hicks upon receiving the award.

The Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania will receive a $5,000 donation to honor Harold’s dedication.

With the $5,000 award from Clearview, The Miracle League of Western Pennsylvania will be able to grow their rosters and continue maintenance on their facilities so that all who want to participate and volunteer at the Bill Mazeroski Baseball Field can do so for many years to come.
